Jamie and I lived on wesley street for many years. Over that time we watched the neighborhood
change dramatically but we still had to drive for a good cup of coffee. During that time I had an office in
a small storefront just 100 yards from our home. At that time my business was growing and I needed more than a office, I needed a warehouse, so the small storefront was available. I had designed and built a cafe about 10 years prior, Ah Roma, Grand Ave. Oakland, but the challenges are completely different when you are the client and the builder.
Jamie, friends & family, pulled at all together. UPDATE 7/2012: Jamie sold the cafe and is pursuing farming, supplying eggs and other goodies to local farm to table restaurants. Go check out Haddon Hill Cafe, see the work and have some great coffee. Click back to projects.
